Don’t look too closely! I am no artist but I had to share the fun I had with the Pebeo Porcelaine 150 paint markers! Let’s rewind and start from the beginning…
The Sweese dinnerware company gifted us some lovely white porcelain serving bowls! We received the 42 oz. four pack of bowls and they were absolutely beautiful as-is…but I apparently have a problem. I see some white decoration or dish and it immediately appears as a blank canvas in my mind’s eye. So what do I do? Immediately start researching how to paint on ceramic dishes. Now, I’m not talking like, decorative paint where you need to practically not touch the bowl or else it will scratch… no. No one wants that. I wanted to find a product that would appear to be apart of the original make up of the ceramic piece. Enter Pebeo Porcelaine 150. The original price point kind of scared me away from wanting to use those paint markers but the more I researched, the more I realized that would be the only way to achieve the look/product I wanted to create! I took the plunge and ordered them…and boy am I glad I did! So super easy to use!! I would love a few more color varieties (namely pinks or purples) but ultimately, I am really pleased with how non-artist-user-friendly they were!
Let’s break it down:
- To find everything I used for this fun project, click HERE!
- Once you’ve picked out your blank porcelain canvas for your masterpiece, give it a good cleaning and make sure it is thoroughly dried before applying paint.
- You might want to grab some cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol for good measure- you know, just in case of any little mess ups!
- Paint paint paint!
- Allow your creation to dry for a full 24 hours (this part is key)
- Bake in the over for 35 mins at 300° F (150° C)
- Allow to cool completely then your piece is ready for use!
